About the Kohimarama Community

This middle of 'the bays' beach has a funky feel, more-so than the rest of the bays. It has a fantastic park, Madills Farm, where the local dog owners meet for a chat, whilst their pooches give them the run around!

Perched in a unique position it misses out on the tourist set and has a gentle, yet active, feel about it. Predominantly upper to middle class reside here and then tend to move from inner Eastern suburb to inner Eastern suburb.

Eating

The area offers a fantastic Italian restaurant, great cafes, a good bakery and takeaways.

Shopping

Although the area is mainly residential, it does however have a great group of shops that include a local takeaway, dairy, fantastic wine shop, beautican, superb bakery (I recommend the chicken pies!), a great green grocer, a great Italian restaurant and a selection of wonderful cafes for brekky and lunch.

Transport

The area is well serviced by the local bus transport.
