Albany is the North Shore’s powerhouse, with massive growth in commercial, industrial and residential sectors driving this exciting region to new heights. By February 2006, three new primary schools have opened in the last three years, indicating the rapid population growth of the area and adding to the pool of highly regarded primary schools available. Kristin and Pinehurst provide private schooling, and secondary schools are an easy commute for students. Massey University’s Albany Campus draws 6,500 students every year and has earned respect particularly for its world-class scientific research capacity.

There is always room on the North Shore for lovely parks and reserves, and Albany is no exception with Albany Scenic Reserve and Lucas Creek Reserve among the many open spaces at hand for residents. Numerous sports clubs provide all manner of sporting activities, including the popular North Shore Golf Club.
