Glenfield

Glenfield is an area which has traditionally found favour with first time home buyers. The landscape of Glenfield has changed dramatically over recent years, the area was historically characterised by group housing, but this has given way to more modern housing as more and more new developments are completed in the area.

The Barfoot & Thompson office is prominently located at 436 Glenfield Road, directly beside the McDonalds and opposite the Glenfield Mall, a familiar destination for locals. This area is very well serviced with shopping and recreational facilities. The Glenfield (Westfield) shopping centre houses a wide variety of shops. There are also a number of cafes and restaurants located nearby.

Glenfield offers a good selection of primary, intermediate and secondary schools. Private schools on the other side of the bridge are easily accessible; with a reliable bus system and a number of direct bus routes running into the CBD on a daily basis. The accessibility to the motorway is also a huge advantage for those traveling into the city.

On a recreational front, Glenfield is very well set up with a number of sports facilities including gym, squash and a swimming pool. There are also a number of established sports clubs for team sports such as tennis, rugby and soccer. The proximity to the Millennium Institute of Sport & Health and the North Shore stadium are also draw cards. There are a number of other nearby attractions including Wairau Park, home to a number of large format stores and a cinema complex and The Glenfield Leisure Centre with hot pools and hydra slides providing hours of entertainment for families. There are also a number of parks and beaches located nearby for outdoor enjoyment and relaxation.
