Greenlane

Greenlane and the neighbouring suburbs benefit from the close proximity to Auckland’s CBD and convenient links to the motorway system going north and south. The whole area has a mixture of homes from traditional bungalows through to modern town houses. There are also wonderful old houses that line Cornwall Park.

The Barfoot & Thompson office is strategically situated on Great South Road near the intersection with Campbell Road, where the suburbs of Greenlane, One Tree Hill, Ellerslie and Penrose meet. Great South Road is the main commercial centre, well-known for the high concentration of car dealerships, however each suburb has its own particular character with a variety of shops, services and cafe’s.

Families living in the area are fortunate to have a choice between several sought–after primary and secondary schools including the popular Epsom Girls and Auckland Grammar Schools. There is also easy access to some of Auckland’s top private schools.

Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill Domain offer endless recreational opportunities in this area and residents are blessed with a touch of country at their door. The wide open spaces, established old trees and grazing sheep and cattle help city dwellers get back in touch with nature. The Stardome Observatory is also within the park and offers hands-on exhibitions for budding astronauts and astronomers as well as regular telescope viewings on clear nights. 

Horse racing is a feature of the area with both the Ellerslie Racecourse and Alexandra Park on the doorstep and the Auckland Showgrounds play host to a wide variety of exhibitions and events throughout the year.
