Highland Park is a residential suburb east of Auckland City with easy access to the eastern beaches. The area has a mixture of housing, from traditional 1970s homes and more contemporary family homes right through to large ultra-modern waterfront properties.
The Barfoot & Thompson Highland Park office is conveniently located across the road from the Highland Park Shopping Centre. The shopping centre has an excellent range of shops including supermarkets, banking facilities, medical professionals and many specialty shops. The Highland Park branch is situated within the Highland Park Home Centre complex, where there is an eight screen cinema complex, as well as many food and entertainment outlets.
The Highland Park area is popular with families of school age children. There are many top quality schools, catering for preschoolers right through to high school age and is on the main bus route for many of Auckland’s private schools further a field.
Highland Park is close to many recreational opportunities. The extensive grounds at Lloyd Elsmore Park offer many opportunities for club sports including soccer, rugby, cricket and tennis, as well as vast open spaces for walking and bike riding. The Lloyd Elsmore Leisure Centre offers the facilities of a fitness centre, spa, sauna, café, crèche and physiotherapist, plus the free use of heated indoor swimming pools.
There is easy access to sandy beaches and water sports at nearby Bucklands and Eastern Beaches. The Half Moon Bay Marina Complex has a gym, cafés, restaurants, medical facilities and a pharmacy as well as numerous boating related services. It is also the terminal for a regular ferry service to both Auckland City and Waiheke Island.
