Takapuna, on Auckland’s North Shore is a cosmopolitan beach suburb just across the Harbour Bridge from the Auckland CBD. The area has a mixture of traditional weatherboard and brick cottages, larger family properties and contemporary high quality houses, town houses and apartments.

The Barfoot & Thompson office is strategically situated within the Takapuna CBD near to the beach. Locals are spoilt for choice when it comes to retail therapy with the Westfield Shopping Centre offering more than 70 outlets including a Farmers store as well as speciality home, clothing and gift shops and an extensive foodcourt. Takapuna offers a host of recreational opportunities. The sandy beaches and water access for swimming and boating are popular with residents and visitors and there are some lovely coastal walks. Lake Pupuke is a favourite for sailing, windsurfing and rowing. Playing fields are busy every weekend with club rugby and soccer in the winter and cricket in the summer. Takapuna also has a thriving arts scene with regular shows and exhibitions, to suit all tastes, at the Bruce Mason Centre and Pumphouse Theatre and Gallery. The local Berkeley Cinema is popular with movie-goers.
