Bayne commenced in real estate in 1988, selling farms and small lifestyle blocks. Over the intervening years he has also sold in the commercial, business and residential sectors and managed a Real Estate office, all of which have been invaluable in contributing to his wide pool of knowledge.

In 1996 after passing the required real estate papers through Massey University Bayne achieved his Diploma in Business Studies with endorsement in Real Estate. The next year he also became an Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute.
