Herbie’s personal philosophy is just one example of his hard working attitude. Herbie has joined Barfoot & Thompson with already ten years experience in the industry. Prior to this, Herbie had always been a self-employed man in several different industries, from direct sales, auto part dealing and even owning and operating his own Indian restaurant. Being self employed requires a lot of hard work and motivation. Herbie’s work ethic, drive, persevering spirit and positive attitude are what made this possible.

Working with people is definitely a passion of Herbie’s and this is evident in his career choices he has made. He has an enthusiasm for helping people find or sell their home. He works and has lived in south Auckland and he believes his passion for this area is because of the people and the distinct culture of the community.

Herbie now lives in Blockhouse Bay with his wife, Uma who has changed careers from a science teacher to a yoga therapist. They have raised two successful children together. His son, Kishan, works as a creative in an advertising agency and his daughter, Kavita, works in television as a documentary producer. Herbie and his wife have renovated six houses over the past few years and currently have three investment properties. Herbie’s experience buying, selling and renovating property gives him fist hand knowledge of the rewards property can bring as well as extensive insight into the industry.
