He has taken the industry by surprise. After successfully running his own business in South Auckland for 15 years he sold the lock, stock and barrel and did not know what to do next. Eventually, he got into real estate and had no problems topping the branch in his first year. Mushtaq says he has no regrets choosing real estate as his new career and above all choosing Barfoot & Thompson as the company.

Mushtaq is known to be successful in anything he lays his hands on. Before coming to New Zealand some 20 years ago, Mushtaq worked for the Ministry of Transport in Fiji in various senior positions. While in New Zealand, Mushtaq set up his own automotive business in South Auckland which he successfully operated for 15 years. Today Mushtaq is in real estate, his third career, which he is proving to be highly successful in.

Mushtaq has been the top performer of Otahuhu branch for the four years since he joined. Within this period Mushtaq has also completed his Diploma in Real Estate to achieve his AREINZ status. Together with his other community works, Mushtaq also serves the community with his appointment as a Justice of Peace for New Zealand.

Mushtaq's motto is that customer loyalty is earned not owned. That is why Mushtaq's database is full of many satisfied and loyal clients. In order to be able to render efficient service to his many loyal customers, Mushtaq also has two assistants working with him.
