Mark van Lent started his career in real estate in 1988 and since then has gained extensive experience in all aspects of the industry from residential and commercial to rural lifestyle; from marketing and negotiating to training and managing.

In 1994, Mark completed the full study qualifications necessary to become an Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute (AREINZ). As well as being a former co-owner and director of an Auckland real estate company, he has also owned and managed a residential building company, and a sales and management training business.

Throughout his time in real estate Mark has maintained a solid sales record, consistently in the top 10% and top 2% for a nationwide real estate group.

Mark is known for his no-pressure and professional approach, and brings valuable experience in all forms of real estate marketing, including auction, tender, and set-price promotions, as well as special project and subdivision marketing. He takes particular pride in using his well-practiced negotiating skills to good effect on behalf of his many clients, both residential and corporate.

With four children, and 2 grandchildren, Mark enjoys a busy and full family life, and during his spare time indulges his interest in jazz music playing bass guitar for the North Harbour Swing Band.

Mark now manages three Barfoot & Thompson branches; Coatesville, Kumeu and Helensville, leading a combined group of dedicated sales professionals with extensive knowledge of all areas north and north-west of Auckland, both residential and rural-lifestyle.
