“I have known Paul Studman for 10 years, when he first acted as agent for the apartment which I purchased at 7C The Pines, 75 Owens Rd, Epsom and then for the sale of my property in Remuera. At the time I was impressed with his integrity and commitment to providing service to both purchaser and seller. Ten years ago, there was a slump in the market and it took several months of Paul being in attendance at both a mid-week and weekend open home before the Remuera property was sold. Nevertheless, Paul maintained his enthusiasm and never once gave any hint that the property might not sell at a realistic price.

Paul owns an apartment in The Pines and over the years has been the agent responsible for negotiating the sale of a number of apartments in the building. When a few owners have chosen not to use him as their agent, they have ended up either not selling and then coming back to Paul, or accepting a sale price considerably below the market value.

Four years ago I purchased apartment 7D The Pines for myself, and my daughter and granddaughter shifted into apartment 7C. Earlier this year, my daughter’s personal circumstances changed and I decided to sell the apartment in which she had been living while remaining myself in 7D. I had no hesitation in hiring Paul as my agent for the sale. He listened to my requests as to how the sale should be handled with sympathetic understanding (no tendering or auction), advised on a marketing strategy and appropriate costs and within a few days the apartment was on the market. Paul has a very extensive client base, with whom he maintains contact when he feels there is a property available in which they might be interested. Over the next three weeks, Paul brought potential purchasers to the property, sometimes several a day, almost on a daily basis. He was meticulous in always seeking permission to enter the property (which was empty at the time) and the providing feedback at the end of each day’s visiting. Three weeks after the first ‘for sale’ advertisement, I received a very satisfactory unconditional cash offer for the property, which I accepted. The purchaser is also delighted at how smoothly the process went and has commented on how obliging Paul was in answering all relevant questions with respect to their property.
