About Aniket Chitre

Real estate is all about people, and as it happens, I love meeting and talking with people! It’s even better if I can provide a solution to their problems – seeing them smile when things go their way makes all the hard work worth it.

Barfoot & Thompson’s primary focus is on the Auckland and Northland property markets. Specialising in one geographic location ensures that we know the market here better than any other New Zealand real estate company. In fact, one in three houses in Auckland is sold by Barfoot & Thompson, a great track record, and a pathway to success for my clients.

In terms of my background, I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality Management and a number of IT qualifications. Prior to real estate, I worked in hospitality, another industry where the foundation of the business is people. Most recently, I was the IT Operations Manager of a New Zealand based group of hotels.

I really enjoy living in Auckland. It’s the people from all walks of life that make this city such a vibrant and interesting place to be. Blockhouse Bay happens to be my favourite suburb; it’s seen a lot of positive changes in recent times, with great new schools, amenities and businesses catering to all the people moving into the area.

Outside of work I’m becoming a bit of a DIY fan. By doing things yourself you get exactly what you want, depending on your skill! My latest craze is walking and I’m proud to say I have completed four 100kms walks for Oxfam. I’m aiming for my fifth in 2023. My wife and I are the only members of our family here in New Zealand so we spend most of our time together.

Apart from English, I speak Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi and Gujarati. You’ll find me at Barfoot & Thompson Blockhouse Bay. Let’s meet and I’ll work towards putting a smile on your face!
