When people walk into their new home for the first time, the look on their faces makes selling real estate all worthwhile. I have been in the property business for nearly two years and joining the team at Barfoot & Thompson Pakuranga is an exciting move for me. Working for Barfoot & Thompson, New Zealand’s largest privately owned, non-franchised real estate company is a privilege. It is still owned and operated by the families who started the business nearly 100 years ago.
I have Diplomas in Hospitality Management and Tourism and IT. Prior to real estate, for three years I ran a Bakers Delight franchise in the Eastern suburbs. Funnily enough, Bakers Delight is also a family owned business, started in the 1980’s in Australia and now has franchises in Canada, the USA and here in New Zealand. It was a labour of love for me and I’m proud to say I was placed first in an Easter and Christmas Baking Campaign.
The one thing my qualifications in hospitality, tourism and IT have in common with real estate is customer service. Exemplary customer service ensures clients and customers return time and time again. When it comes to my work I’m passionate and persistent. Communicating with clients at every stage of the process keeps them in the loop and ensures that buying and selling property can be a stress-free and enjoyable experience.
When I think of Auckland I think beaches. The rugged West Coast, the tranquil East Coast Bays, not to forget the picturesque beaches a bit further north – all world-class destinations. Driving out to Muriwai to watch the sunset while enjoying fish ‘n chips or taking my kids to Takapuna Beach to build sandcastles, is pretty much heaven for me!
Apart from baking, I love playing cricket, swimming and singing (if anyone will listen). Through my role as a Maori warden in Otara I have an intimate knowledge and close connection to the local community.
Sinhalese is my first language and I am also fluent in English. Call me at Barfoot & Thompson Pakuranga. We’ll talk and eventually you’ll be a client with a big smile!
