I bring with me over 25 years of customer service experience, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Massey University. I believe that providing an excellent experience for my clients leads to the success of any campaign. With me on your team, no lead is un-chased and no question unanswered. In 2021, we were both at home one day and not expecting any visitors, when two ladies who we had not seen before, arrived at our front door. The two ladies introduced themselves as Gillian and Leigh from Barfoot & Thompson real estate. They explained that they were visiting houses in our area, offering advice to any homeowners who might be contemplating selling their properties. Gillian and Leigh had a pleasant manner about them, and we invited them in for a chat. We advised them that we were not interested in selling at that moment, but did intend to place our property on the market in the following year, in 2022. We had a very pleasant conversation, they were very informative and provided us with plenty of useful advice. We really appreciated the fact that neither Gillian or Leigh had a pushy attitude. We have encountered this trait on occasions over the years with some real estate salespeople, and it is a real turn-off. On leaving after a really good chat, Gillian and Leigh told us that they would send us some further information in relation to marketing our property and local area information in relation to property sales. We didn't give this much thought but a while later we received a folder from them and we were really surprised at the depth of detailed information that it contained. It would have taken some time to research and prepare. We were very impressed with this level of service as we had not provided them with any confirmation, that when we did decide to market our property, we wouldn't necessarily choose them as our salespeople. In 2022, when the time arrived that was suitable for us to market our property, we had no hesitation in appointing Gillian and Leigh from Barfoot & Thompson, as our sole agents. We did not even consider another real estate agency. The reasons we chose Gillian and Leigh was that they had pleasant personalities, were not pushy, and they went out of their way to provide us with lots of information, without knowing at the time whether we would appoint them to list our house. We were fully appraised of the marketing process with auction and open homes recommended as the initial way to go, and Gillian and Leigh provided us with an assessment as to the market value of our property. It was a worry-free experience. Gillian and Leigh took care of the marketing campaign and showing people through, either by appointment or on open home weekends. We were happy with the number of people that they showed through our house. All we had to do was to make sure that we kept our home ready for viewing. After a month, the auction was held and our house sold under the hammer, above our reserve and slightly higher than the market estimate that Gillian and Leigh had provided to us. We were very happy indeed, and would certainly recommend Gillian and Leigh to anyone looking for good real estate salespeople. Barfoot & Thompson are lucky to have them.

Barfoot & Thompson were chosen and given the initial sole sale rights based on their national coverage and established history to market and sell a plot of land in Opua, Bay of Islands on my behalf. Gillian Hurst was duly assigned and was met in person following phone introductions and an immediate sales plan and process were put in place re valuation range and the best marketing strategy to adopt to gain the widest gamut of coverage based on the location. Samples emailed to me to confirm. Within five days of printed and media coverage, an offer was received on a conditional basis with an initial agreed time-frame for completion following the usual legal searches required.

An excellent professional liaison between myself and the purchaser throughout the initial offer/sale process was maintained by Gillian through respective solicitors as well as maintaining an ongoing marketing strategy for the property to remain in place.

My best interests were maintained throughout, and I was kept well informed of all new interested parties linked to this land sale and the chosen marketing strategy proved itself a wise investment based on the enquiries received.

Updates and options open were performed face-to-face by Gillian for discussion and consideration during the extended sale process in situ. As with all negotiations, offers can change but a firm stance on value remained in place which was met to an unconditional status by the purchaser within the agreed time-frame.
