#1 Salesperson, Pt Chevalier Branch, 6 months ending September 2019
#9 Individual Salesperson, Central Auckland Region, 6 months ending September 2019
I believe a profile should give you an insight into the person you are about to trust totally, with probably your biggest asset. Ultimately, the decision will be made when you meet face to face with me but this is just a little taste.
Firstly, I am not a flashy person - I am not the top seller in the company and also I don't sell 10 properties a month. I also don't believe that to be the best agent, you have to drive the latest Porsche and I do like a little work/life balance. I am a very down to earth, honest person who believes that telling the truth, listening and having empathy is the way to gain trust. Now, that doesn't mean I don't talk because I do (and often too much if you ask some people!) but I care what happens to people. I care about endangered animals and under-privileged children. And I care about each and every client of mine, if their property is worth half a million or 10 million dollars. When you employ me, I am the one who you will hear from and see on a regular basis whenever necessary.
What I am is a caring person who is good at their job. I have been through many different and challenging markets in my real estate career and I am still here, pretty much because I love doing the job I do and helping people make possibly one of life's biggest decisions. The reason to sell has to be your choice and I am here to provide the best feedback to enable you to make that decision.
I have laughed and cried with clients and in many cases, some have become very dear friends. But I know in every case, I have done the very best I can to help the people who have put their faith in me.
My other passions outside of real estate are travel, sport and spending time with my son and family. I am originally from Scotland but stopped (literally) half way, in New Zealand, whilst on a round-the-world ticket, and never left. That was in 1987! Having said that, my slightly obscure Scottish humour hasn't left me! I have travelled a lot of the world and from an early age, have seen the happy side and the not so happy poverty-stricken side of places. It has made me appreciate each and every day I am on this earth. Sport has played a big part in my life also, and I enjoy nothing more now than a long hike or an hour at the gym. If I am not participating, I am probably watching the latest All Black or Warrior's game or an athletic event!
I hope that, after reading this, you will have the confidence to contact me to assist with your next venture in the real estate world.
"Heather had been keeping us in touch with the Pt Chev market over a number of years, and had always been friendly and informative without being pushy. Naturally, we engaged with her and her lovely partner Hannah when the time was right to sell our property.
The sale had to happen at short notice as we needed to sell in order to purchase another property. We were up against Christmas and had long-term tenants. Heather and Hannah provided us with a quick appraisal and arranged photography to get the property on the market in record time. They also managed the delicate liaison with the tenants to enable viewings.
Heather identified our buyer early on and negotiated a price that was a win-win for both parties. It was achieved within a deadline that was shortened further when a back-up offer was accepted and a cash-out clause activated on the property we wanted to buy.
Throughout the entire process, Heather and Hannah were welcoming, approachable, responsive and professional. They understand the market and went above-and-beyond, even arranging to have some paint cans and a wheelie bin removed after the final inspection. They made it easy for us and were a pleasure to deal with.
I would recommend Heather and Hannah to anyone who plans to sell their property in Pt Chevalier."Melanie Gallo
We have known Heather for many years as she has looked after us and our family with all our real estate needs. We were correct again in engaging Heather to sell our house. This time around Hannah was part of the deal. We would not hesitate to recommend these two great women to get you the best price for your home. H & H were the bomb! Great service and we had fun as well.Martyn & Heidi Crockett
"Heather Hannah has acted as agent for sales at Blockhouse Bay Road and St Georges Road. She has worked very hard, been an excellent communicator to vendors, and a skilled negotiator - a fantastic effort. I commend her very highly for what she has achieved."Laurie Guy (estate co-trustee)
"Selling a property for an elderly relative from a distance of 200 km away has the potential for some sleepless nights. I did the research of agents in the local area and Heather's profile page stood out for its down-to-earth content, something I value in an age of self-inflation. I am pleased to say that everything I read was true.
From the first meeting I was fully-informed with an honest appraisal and kept that way by regular email and phone contact. Heather organised tradespeople for me to improve the presentation and visited to see the results. When the tender process produced less than the desired results, Heather redoubled her efforts and we had multiple offers on the table and a sale within a week.
Evidence of Heather's willingness to go the extra mile was her insistence in driving down to Matamata to meet my aunt in her rest-home, and present her with a bouquet of flowers as congratulations for the sale. They spoke for a long time and my aunt confirmed that I had made a great choice.
In an age when image alone seems to rule marketing, it has been an absolute pleasure to have Heather handle my property sale and I would not hesitate to recommend her to other sellers."
Professional, empathetic, knowledgeable. There are many reasons Heather Hannah has been a real estate agent for as long as she has - but the main reason is because she is incredibly successful at it.
Heather will courteously become part of your life during a no doubt stressful time of selling your home, so she can not only get you the best possible price, but also find the right buyer to take over ownership of your home. Heather understands that your property is not just a building on land, and works tirelessly to ensure your home is marketed in the right places, using the right tools.
We cannot thank Heather enough for working so effortlessly with us as we sold property for the first time, and have no qualms whatsoever with engaging Heather again. Thank you Heather; you are a shining light in the real estate industry.
Dear Heather. We would like to take a moment to let you know how appreciative we are to have you as our property agent for the sale. You have been professional, supportive, caring with my parents for the entire process. You have shown your tireless patience to explain every step and element to us and making sure we fully understand what it means. You have also shown your compassion when we were emotional. We could not have done this without you. Our property was not vacant when it was on the market. There are lots of cases where you have to make arrangements to suit tenants. You have been always thoughtful, approachable and punctual throughout. Even there was the request to re-arrange the visit, you have never complained about it.
You delivered absolutely what you promised and beyond. You always keep us updated and well-informed. You have been open, honest and friendly from the beginning to the end. We wish you all the best both professionally and personally for the future.
"Dear Heather, I wanted to thank you so much for marketing and selling our home. Your honesty, integrity and professionalism made the entire process less stressful. The time and effort you put in to exploring every possible avenue to make the sale proceed smoothly is a testimony to your tenacity and passion. I also thank all the other staff at Barfoot & Thompson Pt Chev for all of their efforts. What a team you have of dedicated people. I cannot wait until I am ready to purchase myself as I know I am guaranteed the same level of exemplary service. Please do not ever hesitate to use me as a reference should ever you require one as it would be my absolute pleasure to do so.
Thank you so much for everything."
We would like to take the time to tell you just how appreciative we are of the way you handled the sale of our property in Glen Eden.
You were very helpful, considerate and supportive with my parents through the whole process. Especially when it came to them coming to the realisation that they were going to be bringing a big chunk of their lives to an end. Selling a house is an emotionally draining experience but you were readily available, friendly, had great rapport and were just a wonderful, caring person. We hope we didn't make your job too difficult by moving away early in the process. You immediately stepped in and made the difficult decisions when Dad's brother died and we all had to leave unexpectedly. We cannot thank you enough for doing that. When auction time came around, we were all so emotionally drained, but even though we didn't sell, you were able to share your considerable knowledge of the process and help put a new perspective on things.
We were so happy when YOU sold the property two weeks later. You were so deserving of that accomplishment.
You are a wonderful, thoughtful, caring and supportive person with great sales ability. You listen to what your clients needs are and address them. We would not hesitate in recommending you to family and friends.
Through this process you have become a good friend. Words really can't express our appreciation, but we would like to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU!!
It is rare these days to find that the outcome exceeds one's expectations but this has certainly been my experience at Barfoot and Thompson both on a personal level and the price realised at auction. When I told friends and colleagues that I had listed my Glenfield house with Barfoot and Thompson in Pt Chevalier I was questioned as to why I would list outside the area and I was met with predictions of doom and gloom that the local agents would not support the sale. For me the decision was clear cut - Heather Hannah was the deciding factor in this listing.
For the last four years she has kept me well informed on market prices, for my property in Pt Chevalier, and has responded immediately to my many queries. As I had not sold a property since 1977, Heather talked me through the steps and then took me into the Shortland Street rooms so that I could see the auction process in auction. This was an invaluable experience. Travelling to the North Shore for viewings and the open homes posed no problem for her and neither were my many texts when I had yet another query. Throughout the week Heather updated me daily on viewings and interest shown in the property. She also included me in the photo shoot and gave me the opportunity to view the photos. In the days after the first open homes we received two pre-auction offers and I valued Heather's advice. On the presentation of a third offer I made the decision to accept. With the auction now being the next day, I have to say I had a moment of concern that the other registered bidders would not be able to attend - especially with it now being held at the office. However, I need not have worried because Heather and Simon swung into action to contact potential buyers. Heather also placed a notice on the board outside the house. An action that was instrumental in the final outcome. The successful purchaser was a woman who had seen Heather's amended notice, at 2pm that day, had rung for an agent to show her through, and had then gone straight to the auction at 4.00pm.
At the auction Heather calmed my nerves and introduced me to Marion Tolich who explained the procedure. I was so grateful to Marion when at the end of the auction she came into the room and wrote down the sale price for me. I was in shock and just couldn't take in those numbers! Even as my husband and I left the office Heather and the other staff made us feel as if something special had just happened. So often in business our clients are quick to tell us the negative aspects of our service but seldom give us positive feedback. With three properties still in my portfolio it will be without hesitation and with confidence, when the next one goes under the hammer, that my first and only call will be to Heather at Barfoot and Thompson, Pt Chevalier.
Thanks so much for all your help and just how great you are to deal with. We were both impressed by you and found you easy and straight up which to be honest is very refreshing compared to some of the agents out there!
Thank you for your expert advice and support over the past couple of months. You knew from the outset it was not going to be a straightforward property to sell, but your consistent effort and energy made a huge difference to the sale process and the final outcome. I was very happy with your service from the first meeting at the house to the weekly updates and constant communication. I would recommend you to anyone wishing to sell their house in future. Thanks.Stephen Lee
Heather was fantastic. She made things so easy for us. She even put us in touch with mortgage brokers and insurance brokers. She helped us buy our new property even though the listing was with another real estate company. Definitely would recommend her again. We have known Heather for 12 years as we bought our first property from her and have just kept in touch since. She has now sold properties for lots of friends and family.Brogan and Vicki
I just wanted to say thanks so much for being awesome.
It's not that often that you find a real estate agent with integrity, energy, humor and a passion for property. I appreciate all your work when Joshua was sick. You just made it stress free, incredibly easy and painless - I guess its because you really are that good.
We were pretty happy with the price of 600K - we feel it was a premium price for the flat as I have looked around and most are still selling for early to mid 500's.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to others. Catch up for a drink soon.
On behalf of Kathy and myself, we'd like to acknowledge the work that you did in undertaking the sale of our home in Pt Chevalier in February/March this year. Of note was how well you ensured prompt and open communication, with Kathy and myself. It was re-assuring that you patiently answered all our queries, and followed through on any issue that we had. Your communication throughout the sale was excellent, and developed trust for us. Thank you for all your work in getting us through this sale.David Holder
Heather Hannah has recently been involved in the sale of our property in Pt Chevalier. We have been impressed with her professionalism, her punctuality with appointments, her happy friendly nature and we would highly recommend her. Heather achieved more than we expected and we are very happy with the outcome. Heather acted with total integrity with both parties to everyone's satisfaction. We wish her all the very best for the future and will definitely be consulting her for our next property sale.Kevin and Shirley O'Brien
Wow - 100k over my reserve price for a level entry house in Point Chevalier was no fluke! Leading up to the auction Heather worked meticulously to ensure that everything was on track - from marketing, open homes, building inspections, to the auction - I was kept informed every step of the way. I really appreciated Heather's open and straightforward approach, her huge knowledge of the area, and her ability to develop strong relationships with all potential buyers. But most of all, what stands out for me, is the high level of integrity that Heather consistently brought to her work. Selling my house was a big deal - so having an agent that I completely trusted made the process of selling so much easier. Thanks again Heather for your amazing work which I believe lead to an exceptional sales result.Maryann Lee
We first met Heather in Pt Chevalier a few years ago. We were so impressed that we got in touch with her after deciding to sell in Grey Lynn to move overseas. Throughout the sales process we felt Heather always acted in our best interest with a high degree of professionalism. Heather's constant communication and genuine, up front manner was thoroughly appreciated and made it a lot easier to sell our much loved home. While we were hesitant about the marketing plan she proposed we were glad we took her advice. We would not hesitate in recommending Heather.Lisa and Ken Henderson
