With over 40 years of continuous real estate sales experience I have an extensive background working with auctions, tenders, promotions, mortgagee/high court sales and property development in the residential/lifestyle and rural sectors. I fully understand that selling real estate today requires a genuine commitment to professionalism, customer service and industry knowledge as well as outstanding marketing and negotiating skills.
My selling career began in Kerikeri working for the family firm "Broadbent Real Estate". I relocated to Auckland and joined the top performing team at Barfoot & Thompson Mission Bay. I spent 16 happy years there before returning to Kerikeri, where I have enjoyed my time with the branch since it opened, working as both a salesperson and branch manager.
Jim Broadbent, our agent at the Kerikeri branch, was able to get potential buyers to put an offer on paper thus allowing us to negotiate the price (other agents seen to find this process difficult). Plus Jim kept following up potential buyers (many times) even if these people treated him poorly (with little or no respect). Thirdly Jim communicated on a consistent basis, re progress and made sure we did what was required to get the sale to unconditional.
He was willing to put significant time and effort into getting an offer on paper AND was good at qualifying potential buyers (didn't bring tyre kickers around). Plus he was willing to work with other agents from other companies to ensure we got a sale. In other words he worked for us, no-one else.
I would like to acknowledge that both Jim Broadbent and Hugh Fenwick excelled in taking our home to market and selling it. They brought both experience and finesse to the table. We would like to compliment them on the way they carried out the whole process every step of the way. From the communication with us and prospective purchasers, to appraising the market, dealing with the nitty-gritty weekly issues that arose and then perfectly assessing feedback as to how the property sat in market as auction day neared.
