With over 27 years in the real estate industry, the last seven with Barfoot & Thompson, I have gained a lot of knowledge and seen a number of changes in this competitive industry.
The most pleasing aspect of listing and selling real estate for me is the pure enjoyment I still get from meeting and working together with people - whether they are a buyer or a seller.
The satisfaction of helping a home owner sell and a customer buy property is still very much my main motivation for being in this business. By alleviating the stress of my clients and customers, keeping things simple and making people feel comfortable from the outset; I develop clients and friendships for life.
I can attribute my longevity in real estate to the pleasure of meeting and working with people from all walks of life and the fact that I am down to earth and listen to what my clients want. I am committed, loyal, and prepared to go the extra distance when it is exceptional service you want and deserve.
In my spare time, I enjoy time out with my family and I am a keen sportsman, with an interest in all types of sporting activities. In the past, I have played senior club rugby for the Mt Roskill, North Shore and Ponsonby Rugby Clubs, in addition to representing the Auckland Rugby A team in the 1970s. These days, my activities revolve around social touch rugby and golf.
Joining Barfoot & Thompson has always been an ambition of mine and my only regret is not joining this strong, well-known and proven company earlier in my real estate career.
It is our pleasure to recommend the services of Lisa Lloyd-Taylor and Jim Murray of Barfoot & Thompson, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Their mix of friendliness, utmost professionalism, excellent communication and sage advice allowed us to confidently sell our Auckland home from overseas, leaving everything in their hands. From marketing, auction and sale, staging and landscaping recommendations and much more, we certainly received more in service than we ever envisaged.Darryl & Mark
My wife and I recently put our house in New Windsor up for sale and engaged Jim Murray from Barfoot & Thompson to market the property. From the outset we were guided through the process, from this a clear strategy and plan was mapped out, this gave us insight and total transparency into the marketing, how the house would be sold, navigating through open homes and spot appointments for possible buyers. Most importantly we understood vendor obligations surrounding the sale, the emphasis on presentation, the need to keep the week by week plan seamless while being flexible within that plan.
My wife and I felt fully informed at all times and at no time did we feel out of the loop even through as we know the odd curve ball can and did occur. This led to a prior offer being placed on the property which was then followed by an auction outcome of which my wife and I are pleased with in what is a "cooler" market from some years ago.
We wanted to recognise and commend Jim for his dedication, commitment to us as vendors while providing total support throughout this journey. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jim and the great team at Barfoot & Thompson to other vendors, friends and family.
