About John Urlich

B.Prop, B.Com, Dip. Bus (Fin), AREINZ

For my entire working career, I have focused on commercial real estate. I’ve accumulated a great deal of expertise and have earned much respect from colleagues in the business. At a well-known real estate agency in Auckland, for 10 years, I forged a reputation as an auction and tender specialist with unmatched market knowledge and sound business instincts. I have a track record of consistent sales and happy clients.

In August 2003, I accepted the position of Sales and Leasing Manager at Barfoot & Thompson Commercial. Since then, the division has grown from just 28 salespeople to an impressive staff of 100 and counting! In 2006, I was promoted to the position of Commercial Manager for Barfoot & Thompson and in 2011, I became responsible for the entire commercial division across all three agency branches - City, North Shore and South Auckland. I’m proud to say that since taking over, the market share of the commercial division has gone from strength to strength.

A Commercial Property Management wing was established in 2012. An expert team of 12 Barfoot & Thompson Asset Managers, Facilities Managers and support staff have built and manage a total portfolio in excess of $1 Billion.

Previously, I was Course Co-ordinator of Finance in the Property Department at the University of Auckland Business School. Currently, I am on the steering committee for both REINZ, of which I am an Associate Member, and New Zealand Realtors. I am truly passionate about my work and my strong legal, analytical and negotiating skills are strengths I bring to each of my roles.

A dedicated father of three, my wife Tanya and I live in central Auckland.
