As a residential salesperson at Barfoot & Thompson Mangere, every working day I get to do what I love – meet and bond with people. The enjoyment is the same now as it was way back in 1998, when I first started in the industry.
Originally from Fiji, my husband and I immigrated to New Zealand in 1983 with our four children, in order to pursue our teaching careers. I taught for 25 years both in Fiji and here in New Zealand and in a funny sort of way, getting to know and understand the needs and goals of my clients is not too dissimilar to teaching. It’s all about listening, guiding and empathising.
My father travelled from China to Fiji as a trader in beche-de-mer, (a sea cucumber popular in Chinese cooking) and sandalwood. He eventually became a fisherman and a market gardener which is maybe why I love gardening so much!
Being from the Islands, I have empathy with ‘my people’ and enjoy helping them fulfil their property dreams.
Once a client always a client is my motto. My South Auckland clients, especially from Mangere East have joined my loyal West and Central Auckland client base.
I like the family-orientated environment of Barfoot & Thompson and the fact they are Auckland’s #1 real estate firm, selling around two in five properties in the region – that’s definitely a plus for my clients.
I’m a grand mum of four beautiful grandchildren. Along with gardening, I love cooking, especially trying new recipes and I really love giving tips to family, friends and clients too.
When it comes to buying and selling property, the truth is there’s no ‘magic formula’. Do you want to work with a salesperson who has the expertise to assess the market, has an extensive database of contacts, a positive attitude and will put in the hard work? If the answer’s yes, give me a call. You’ll be glad you did.
