Auckland’s rental market wrapped up 2025 with its busiest December in years, as renter activity surged despite rent prices remaining largely flat. Enquiries hit their highest December level since 2020, with strong interest continuing right through to Christmas.
- Enquiries: 22,425 - the highest since December 2020 and up 31.9% on December 2024.
- Rental applications: 2,830 - up 14.4% on December 2024
- Average Auckland weekly rent: $696.19 - broadly unchanged month-on-month, but up $5.55 (0.8%) year-on-year.
