February 2018 rental report

Find out how the average rent for different-sized Auckland properties has changed over the past year.

  • Average Auckland rents have increased by $24 per week, or 4.6%, in the 12 months since February 2017. 
  • Central Suburbs and West Auckland have seen the largest percentage increase in rent over the last 12 months, with increases of 5.7% and 5.8% respectively.
  • Rents in Pakuranga/Howick have increased 2.3% in the last 12 months.
  • The largest increase in rent for large properties with 5 or more bedrooms was in the Central Suburbs, increasing $49 in the last 12 months. 
  • Central Auckland, Central and Eastern Suburbs remain the most expensive areas to rent.
