Slipper Island - Slice of Island Paradise
Dreaming of your own island property away from everything and everyone?
Slipper Island (Whakahau) is a small private island off the east coast of New Zealand's north island. A prime position that benefits from a sub-tropical microclimate, located just far enough away from the mainland to boast real privacy.
A mere fifteen minute boat ride from the local port of Tairua, the magical beauty of this little island cannot be overstated. Effortlessly encompassing the rolling green hills of rural New Zealand, and the ambiance of its own crystal blue water beaches.
This picturesque island has an allure normally reserved for the most favoured of holiday resorts.
In a prime spot on a panoramic hilltop, this land holds a position reminiscent of the locations chosen for castles, and reserved for the lucky few.
The 4872m² section is ready for the home of your dreams, and it comes with a lifestyle unlike any other. Time spent at home will involve taking in glorious vistas from all directions, with the sun on your face, fresh air to breathe, and the gentle sound of the sea to listen to. Cellular coverage is excellent, so working from your magnificent new home will be easy.
Whether your preference is to spend time in the blue waters, take pleasure from the local birdlife, or simply relax on a stunning beach. Spending time on the beach is fantastically family friendly, with the cove safe for children to splash and play, go kayaking or simply enjoy the space.
Because access to your section is via the southern bay, where you have your own mooring (suitable for vessels up to ten metres) you are close enough to make a simple trip to the mainland, and far enough away to allow meaningful sanctuary from the world.
The section has a small shed with a rain water supply, set up as a camping point providing basic accommodation, ideal for checking in on your dream home as it grows. If you prefer however, you could stay at local Slipper Island Resort, a quality retreat providing chalets, Safari style tents and glamping options.
During summer there is a New World (Supermarket) boat that provides grocery delivery to the island, affectionately known locally as the Waka Kai (Food Boat). A cheerful option in case the fishing trip doesn't quite go according to plan.
The Alderman Islands archipelago, famed for its splendid variety of marine life and fishing, is also only a short boat trip away, expanding your options further than ever.
This really is an extraordinary and very exclusive opportunity for the earliest of early birds, don't sleep in.
