Mercy Hospice provides free specialist palliative care and hospice services for people facing life limiting illnesses, providing clinical expertise and compassionate services for those at the end of their lives. The charity also offers support and education to family, friends and carers to help them cope with the difficulties arising from illness.
The Farmers Santa Parade is a spectacular day for Auckland families leading up to the end of the year. Hundreds of thousands of people line the streets of the CBD to share in the spirit of Christmas. Barfoot & Thompson’s Gingerbread House float has been a staple part of the parade for many years, as well as our dancing houses.
We are honoured to be the principal partner of the official NZ Badminton Open, part of the HSBC BWF World Tour. The event hosts a competitive tournament for players from all over the world. By supporting this event we are also supporting the fastest growing sport in NZ secondary schools and the number one racquet sport for young people.
It’s important to Barfoot & Thompson to support events that not only promote healthy and active Aucklanders, but to also give internationals a reason to visit our vibrant city. The event hosts around 15,000 people from young to old and gives a unique Auckland experience which cannot be replicated.
The Barfoot & Thompson People's Triathlon Series is a four-part event in Summer, staged between Mission Bay and Maraetai beach. It is Auckland’s longest-running triathlon series and enables participants to race as competitively or non-competitively as they like and have the chance to race a variety of distances in both triathlon and duathlon.
A day at the races showcases a dynamic mix of entertainment, hospitality, fashion and thoroughbred racing. We are principal sponsor of Twilight Summer Races, a vibrant evening event which hosts the Jockey World Cup, and Auckland Cup Day, the most prestigious race day that sees athletes gather from far and wide.
The Auckland Rugby Union is responsible for the development of rugby in Auckland, which includes competitions from primary school level to club competitions, right up to the Mitre 10 Cup. Barfoot & Thompson has supported Auckland Rugby Union since 1986, giving us an incredible opportunity to support Rugby in Auckland.
The Northern Mystics are an Auckland team who compete in the ANZ Premiership alongside 5 other teams. The club was formed in 2008 which is also when Barfoot & Thompson came on board. The team has nurtured some of NZ’s best netballers and Silver Ferns players.
The North Harbour Rugby Union was formed in 1985 and during this time has enjoyed a great deal of success on the rugby field. Having produced many All Blacks and other New Zealand representative players, and also winning their fair share of division titles throughout the years.
We are an official New Zealand partner for the NZOC, supporting athletes to live their dream of competing at the Olympic Games. They represent Aotearoa New Zealand with honour and pride and the silver fern is a symbol of their sporting success.
Bike Auckland is a not-for-profit organisation and independent voice for cycling in Auckland. They lead the push for positive change, on behalf of everyone who rides a bike in our city. We believe this is an important step in making our city a better place to live.
