It was a “night of brilliance” at the Viaduct Events Centre this past Saturday, 16th May, as Barfoot & Thompson hosted our annual awards evening. With over 600 guests, the company's top performers were in the spotlight.
Judy Brown, smoothly serenaded the crowd down the magenta carpet in an illuminated gown and her saxophone. Then Jaime Vokes wowed the crowd with “In Colour” by Shapeshifter - the perfect song to open the event. Judy was back to close the night with DJ Karn Hall who turned the ballroom into a night club full of vibrant beats.
CEO Chris Dobbie, opened the awards celebrating the exceptional talent in the room. "The brilliance is you. You are at the top and deserve this night. YOU are leading this company."
He highlighted the dedication and perseverance of each of the recipients.
“It’s not only about what you do every day…It’s your consistency and high expectations. I see it. The Directors see it. Your colleagues see it. And our clients see it.”
The Elite Award winners received the exclusive brass ampersand trophy.
They included:
- Property Manager of the Year 2026 (Kelland Barfoot Cup winner): Vivek Gautam (Royal Oak)
- Rising Star of the Year 2026: Randy Rosario (Glendene)
- Commercial Salesperson of the Year 2026: Reese Barragar (City Commercial)
- Rural/Lifestyle Salesperson of the Year 2026: Scott McElhinney (Pukekohe)
- Residential Salesperson of the Year 2026 (Val Barfoot Cup winner): Logan Boersma (Howick)
- Branch Manager of the Year 2026 (Maurice Thompson Cup winner): Steve Maserow (Howick)
Chris also gave a special welcome to the guests. “Thank you for supporting our stars. If they are here, you know how much time and effort they spend to be at the top. We appreciate you sharing them with us.”
He acknowledged he knows the company holds everyone “to high standards. That’s what keeps the Barfoot & Thompson brand strong. And the stronger the brand, the more opportunity and support you have to rise even higher.”
Director Peter Thompson also took the stage to award Chris the “President’s Service Award” from Leading Real Estate Companies of the World who was unable to attend the event earlier in the year. Another reason to celebrate!
