A touch of magic transformed the Viaduct Events Centre this past Saturday, 10th May, as Barfoot & Thompson hosted their annual awards evening under the theme of 'Enchanted Forest'. In front of almost 700 guests, the night was a spectacular celebration of the company's top performers and their remarkable achievements over the last year.
Entertainment for the night was nothing short of spectacular, featuring breathtaking performances by The Dust Palace, the dynamic sounds of Kings, and the smooth stylings of Lewis McCallum to close out the evening.
CEO Chris Dobbie opened the ceremony, acknowledging the exceptional talent in the room. "Where the magic isn't just in the trees, it's right here, among the very best of Barfoot & Thompson, and to be perfectly honest, the very best within the entire industry."
He highlighted that those in attendance had reached the pinnacle of their profession, a testament to their "dedication, carefully nurtured relationships, and the determination to improve every day".
Those at the very top of the Barfoot & Thompson tree, are presented with an Elite Award - symbolised by the brass ampersand trophy each winner receives. This year’s Elite Award winners included:
- Head of Property Management of the Year 2025 (Kelland Barfoot Cup winner): Clay Reeve (Glenfield)
- Rising Star of the Year 2025: Sharlene Druyven (Waiuku)
- Commercial Salesperson of the Year 2025: William Read (City Commercial)
- Rural/Lifestyle Salesperson of the Year 2025: Scott McElhinney (Pukekohe)
- Residential Salesperson of the Year 2025 (Val Barfoot Cup winner): Bob Qin (Millwater)
- Branch Manager of the Year 2025 (Maurice Thompson Cup winner): Nick Bates (Pukekohe)
Outside of the evening’s winners, Dobbie also took a moment to recognise the crucial support system behind the successful individuals, thanking "families, friends, and colleagues - whose backing, continued encouragement, love, and support are integral to your achievements so far.”
And, while acknowledging the company's achievements, including a significant market share and substantial sales and property management figures, he brought the focus back to the people. The company's goal remains clear: "to be the company of choice not just today, but for generations of customers.”
A huge thank you is extended to everyone who contributed to making the Barfoot & Thompson Awards 2025 an unforgettable evening – from the celebrated attendees and their supportive guests to the tireless efforts of those who worked behind the scenes to create such a spectacular event. Congratulations to all the winners and top performers on your well-deserved recognition!
