March 2017 rental report

Find out how the average rent for different-sized Auckland properties has changed over the past year.

  • Average rent is up 4.6% over the same quarter last year. It was $508 in Q1, now at $533. 
  • City Centre and Wattle Downs are consistently the suburbs with the highest gross yield at over 4%.
  • There has been a sharp rise in average rent for one bedroom properties in Franklin this past quarter, with average rent going up by $27. 
  • Central Suburbs has surpassed an average rent of $1000 per week for 5+ bedroom properties. Eastern Suburbs reached this milestone in September 2014.
