I graduated from AUT University with a Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences in 2013.

In March 2019, I began my career with Barfoot & Thompson, as a Property Portfolio Manager working from the Panmure branch. I’m proud to work for a company who trains their property portfolio staff and ensures that company-wide, property management protocols and standards are met.

A big part of my role is to provide expertise and support to landlords, helping them to take the right steps to provide good quality and compliant rental properties. I am also well-trained in protocols for inspections of property, reviews, dispute resolution and so on. This collective expertise helps to establish great relationships with all landlords and tenants. I manage my own investment property, so my landlords and tenants know that I understand the picture from their perspective.

I just wanted to provide feedback in regards to our experience with John He as tenants. We have only been in New Zealand for just over a year and a half after moving from Australia. We took over the lease from my father-in-law who unfortunately passed away just days before we arrived.

We had been living in a house that fills with mould, a rusted oven that's falling apart, the bathroom is rotting from the floor up (I'm suprised we didn't fall through the tub!). We gave up trying to get things fixed with our property manager as nothing would be done. The idea of moving was daunting which is why we put it off for so long.

Our current agency wanted us to continue renting with their agency but upon looking at their houses, all of them were of the same poor quality. Not kept up at all and for myself, I would consider barely liveable.

We found a house we liked and John He happened to be the Property Manager looking after it. Right from the first contact he had viewing times ready to choose from. Communication was flawless.

The house we originally went for was not suitable for us, but a quick conversation with John - he had another property we might like. We viewed the next day - applied and not long after were approved.

I would like to mention that when we looked through all the listings - you could tell that the owners and Property Managers were looking after the properties (even the much older ones) - ensuring they were safe for people to live in.

Between then and moving into the property, John was great with answering questions like finding the power meter number etc. He responds so quickly, and nothing is a issue.

Even from our history in Australia we have never received such high quality service from a Property Manager before. I feel confident that our experience renting with Barfoot & Thompson will be nothing but the best.

I just wanted to write this email as its more then often you hear the bad feedback rather than the positive and I really feel John deserves recognition for the way he treats others.
