Top Small Property Management Office, North Shore Region, 6 months ending September 2024
The role of Head of Property Management at Barfoot & Thompson Devonport fulfils my passion of working with people. Whether it’s our landlords or tenants, I take a real pride in providing a professional service to all.
Previous roles as a Team Leader with the ANZ Bank and an Advertising Manager emphasised my ability to take the lead.
Working in Devonport is a real joy for me. I just love the people, the culture and the fascinating history that goes back to 1840. Originally, it was called Flagstaff- a signalling station was set up on Mt Victoria (Takarunga) and in 1868, Flagstaff was renamed Devonport. The deep-water anchorage was suitable for naval vessels and it became the base for our The Royal New Zealand Navy.
A short walk takes you from the Devonport Ferry Building to the Devonport Naval Base. It's a fun way to pass the time if you're waiting for the ferry and the route offers uninterrupted views of the Waitemata Harbour, the Auckland city skyline and port. You can also admire the historic character homes that line Queens Parade.
Outside of work I like to go scuba diving, fishing and I enjoy socialising with family and friends. My charity of choice is the Westpac helicopter.
Barfoot & Thompson’s values of People, Family, Diversity and Community resonate well with me. It feels good to be part of a company that gives back, and makes Auckland city a more interesting place to live and work.
We’re a great team here at Devonport. Give us a call or drop into the office for a chat.
