About Tony Carter
I have worked and resided in the East Coast Bays and Red Beach for my entire real estate career. I was initially selling residential and rural property throughout the North Shore and lower Rodney District until I was appointed manager of Barfoot & Thompson's Torbay branch in 2008. Now I am thrilled to head the Millwater branch in this amazing growth area.
My father was an old school master builder from whom I learned building techniques and the entire building process from a very early age. I also spent many years in horticulture with lots of farming friends both in the Bay of Plenty and Kumeu. Prior to joining Barfoot & Thompson, I held senior management roles mostly with Fletcher Building, manufacturing building products in the composite wood panels, aluminium and steel products divisions, and I also did a stint in the food-processing industry in Hawkes Bay. Experience and knowledge gained from my upbringing, rural business and professional roles, is a valuable resource I draw on when training and advising my sales and property management teams and their clients, as well as managing the real estate business.
Our sales and property management teams are high-performing, well-trained and hard-working professionals with vast skills and experience. The team is a cultural mixture that hails from New Zealand, Asia, Europe, Central and South America and also South Africa. Most live locally and they are experts in the local market. Our well-established, well-qualified and growing team, lead by property manager Tony Gibbs, is very highly regarded by their landlords and tenants. Based centrally in the Millwater hub, the branch is ideally situated to manage the sale and purchase, rental and management of residential, rural and lifestyle property throughout the Hibiscus Coast and Rodney District.
As a branch, we are committed to our local community. As well as the many charities that we support, we regularly assist and sponsor local schools, community groups and events in neighbourhood.
Not being franchised, our branch is supported by Barfoot & Thompson's sophisticated computerised listing system that enables all of our salespeople across more than 77 branches, from Waiuku in the south to Kerikeri in the North, to view and have access to any of our listings as soon as they are released. There are no geographical barriers in our company so any of our salespeople, in any branch, can list and sell anywhere. The property management team uses a top of the range, fully integrated financial management system across their entire portfolio of properties. Our systems and people are two of the key reasons Barfoot & Thompson sells more than one in every three Auckland properties and half the properties locally in the Millwater area.
