August 2017 rental report

Find out how the average rent for different-sized Auckland properties has changed over the past year.

  • The average Auckland rental is up by 4.8% on the same month as last year - a $25 increase.
  • The greatest increase has been in the Eastern Suburbs region, with an increase of 6.3%. 
  • Auckland Central remains the most expensive for 1, 2, and 3 bedroom properties, and Eastern Suburbs for 4 and 5+ bedroom properties.
  • 3 bedroom properties are the preferred size, with 41% of the rentals for this size, followed by 2 bedrooms at 25%.
