#7 Individual Salesperson, Eastern Suburbs, to end March 2017
Since 1994, I have been successfully selling in the ‘wider Bays’ of Auckland city. I’m proud to say I am the longest-serving member of the Barfoot & Thompson St Heliers sales team.
My first job upon leaving college was with the Bank of New Zealand. Next, I worked for the Ports of Auckland Property before being appointed Regional Property Manager of Fletcher Challenge/Challenge Properties Limited, primarily responsible for Fletcher Pension Fund properties and other strategic assets including Wiri Wool Store. All of these roles were an interesting introduction to the world of property.
I grew up in Riddell Road attending Glendowie Primary School and St Kentigern College and for the past 30 years, my wife and I have resided in again, Riddell Road. We have three adult children and one grandson who we understandably adore.
Sports-wise, I was selected to represent New Zealand in three unrestricted World 18ft championships, both locally and in Australia. Before this, I was the 18ft M class champion with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and was part of the winning crew in the Citizen Match Race series in keelboats. Aside from being a highly competitive yachtsman, I am interested in all sports.
Throughout my lengthy career in real estate, I have experienced many different market trends and various design phases and construction types that presented their own challenges from time to time. Eastern Bays is my patch! In fact, I am a past Barfoot & Thompson award winner for sales in the area.
I bring a wealth of experience to the table, along with an extensive client network – estimable attributes that will assist in achieving price maximisation when selling your most valuable asset. I now have Associate status of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand entitling me to use the very distinctive AREINZ.
A big thank you for your efforts in the marketing and sale of mum's home at Kildare Avenue, Glendowie. My appreciation for your attention to every detail in the preparation days leading up to the open homes. Your professional skills ensured every aspect of the campaign was professionally managed. The whole experience from our initial meeting to the successful result on auction day demonstrated the level of a well-structured and proven program. Feedback following the open homes enabled me to gauge the interest and assess the asking price accurately. Bob, well done and thank you again.Paul Towers
Thank you Bob Gordon for the help you gave us selling our family home. After more than 40 years in Glendowie Road we really felt as though we were cutting ties with a piece of our history. Your management of the appraisal, organisation of the publicity material, advertising, open homes and auction day performance showed us how dedicated you were to achieving the best possible outcome for us whilst being respectful of our family's sentimental ties to our home. We were very pleased with the overall process and appreciate the lengths you went to keeping all members of our family informed of progress. We would of course be happy to use your services again and recommend you to other potential sellersPeter Edwards
When my elderly parents were moving from the family home of 55 years into a rest home, Dad told me "You have to get in touch with Bob Gordon from St Heliers Barfoot & Thompson." As soon as I met Bob, I felt I had met an old family friend. He knew my parents well and put me at ease about selling the house. After the initial meeting there were a few emails that went back and forth and before we knew it an offer came in that far exceeded our expectations. An auction was held and Bob was there with me at the auction. I remember having such mixed emotions that day. I was going to be saying "good-bye" to the only home I had known, it was closure for Mum and Dad also and I felt terribly lonely as I was the only member of the family who could attend the auction. Bob was so kind, reassuring, talked me through what was happening and gave me his full and undivided attention - just like a friend would. Bob is not only good at his job but he is very personable. I believe he gave me and my family the very best attention and service possible. When I think back to when we went through this very stressful time, Dad was right - I had to get Bob and I'm so pleased I did.Gemma Henrys
We sold our family home in Glendowie, Auckland after purchasing it in August 2001 through Barfoot & Thompson. Our home provided us with many happy family memories, from our "at home" wedding, the birth of our children and a few pets along the way. So it was a very emotional time for us when we decided the South Island beckoned us. I knew immediately that I would engage Barfoot & Thompson and sought the services of Bob Gordon. Bob was very patient with us as we gained an understanding of the marketing and sale process. In the end, the marketing plan came together beautifully and we sold our home at auction. Bob kept us informed every step of the way and he made us feel like we were his only customer. He is a real professional who cares very much for the people he serves, and he delivers on everything he commits to. We recommend Bob to anyone buying or selling a home.Brett & Vicky Russell
Bob made the selling of my house as easy as was possible, he knew the market well and was a pleasure to work with.Judith Burridge
Bob completed a highly satisfactory campaign for our property. Our sale had some very challenging components, that at times left all parties quite flustered. Bob's attention to detail and desire to get everything 'just right' never waivered. He was always available to discuss concerns and questions, and my husband and I really appreciated his honest and realistic approach. I would not hesitate to use Bob again for any of our real estate needs.Karen Smith
