In 2009, I joined the Barfoot & Thompson Papakura Team and established myself as a successful salesperson. I am a seasoned professional who learned the basics of the business in the midst of a recession.
Although it may now feel like a distant memory, people who bought properties in 2008 had to wait quite some time before they saw the value of their homes recover. It was particularly tough on first-home buyers, many of whom had been able to access 95 percent or even 100 percent mortgages in the lead-up to the correction.
A never-give-up attitude and strong negotiating skills kept me on top, even during that downturn. The pressure of meeting deadlines for clients when the situation demanded was exhilarating. Plus I thrive on a challenge and excel under pressure. On many occasions, I have handled multiple negotiations involving multiple properties, all at the same time.
I have always believed that ‘survival of the fittest’ is the way forward. In August 2020, the booming New Zealand real estate market and ever-growing client database gave me the idea to form a Team. In the very first month, my Team successfully sold 11 properties in the South and East Auckland region – this was an exciting time.
The majority of my work is in the South-East Auckland area, where I specialise in investment property and development.
