I am writing this letter to thank Barfoot & Thompson, Simon Lu (Pt Chevalier Branch) and Vanessa Xu (Hobsonville Branch) in achieving such an amazing result for our house.

I am very proud that our house is the best selling house on the whole street, and I am so glad that I made the right decision to choose Barfoot & Thompson and Vanessa and Simon, who are the true professionals withextraordinary experience. They made a lot of effort to help us achieve a perfect price last week from the Pre-auction. The amazing result provides more possibilities for the future of our family.

They have a good understanding of the market. Based on the property location which is Te Atatu South, they classified potential buyers accurately and gave us the correct guidance, including how to improve and stage our house, when is a good time to go to the market and auction. They helped us analyse the market so that we could make the best decision when it came to accepting the pre-auction offer.

Before we listed our property, they came to our house multiple times to make sure the staging and presentation were great. Vanessa introduced very good builders to help us renovate our house. Simon introduced a very good lawyer and a great photographer. Vanessa designed the billboard and flyers beautifully. Simon even lent us his daughter’s bedside table to make the staging more beautiful. In the process of open home, they provided a detailed introduction to the visitors and provided feedback to us as soon as the open home was finished. They followed up with the open home visitors and gave us feedback in time. When there was a Pre-auction buyer, they had a meeting with us immediately to discuss, and they also helped us analyse the market so that we made the correct decision to accept the Pre-auction offer.
They are amazing service providers.
They provided professional and high-quality services. When we couldn't find the builders to build our deck and fix our fence immediately, when we couldn't order the deck timber anywhere because of the shortage, Vanessa sorted out the problems for us. You must know how difficult it was to order the deck timber in the hot market! When we were concerned that Lockdown would affect our house auction, Simon brought us a Pre-auction buyer, so we were able to go to auction in the last week and got the wonderful price. Our scheduled auction date is today, the 2nd of March. Who can imagine what we will get in the Lockdown situation if we didn't go to market on time and didn't go to Pre-auction last week!
Even after the auction, they still provided lots of help. Their services and actions make us often feel that they were selling their own house. I believe that without their high degree of professionalism, great experience, and responsible attitudes, we would not have achieved such a satisfactory result.
We have recommended them to our friends, and we hope that our friends will be as lucky as we are!

"I recently bought a property through the Barfoot & Thompson real estate agency. I found the people at the agency to be an absolute delight, in particular the agent who negotiated the sale. Simon Lu is an energetic and friendly character that listened to what I wanted. I had on two previous occasions tried to verbally negotiate a price on properties I was interested in with a different agency. The agents would simply not negotiate verbally, they insisted on a contract. Both of those sales came nowhere near an agreed price even though I gave those agents my top dollar prior to signing the contracts. Time and money wasted on my lawyer. Simon didn't need to be asked twice, After I viewed the property a couple of times I called him to ask if I could see the property again and make a verbal offer, as always throughout this process he was obliging and very keen. Not only did he get me another viewing and agree to verbally negotiate, he managed to get the sellers to come to the agency to verbally negotiate the price in the middle of a week day. He had us in separate offices and spent more than two hours negotiating, on this occasion we could not agree on a price and left it there. A few days passed and I decided to offer a bit more on the property, again Simon organized for me to see the property and again he organized the sellers to meet us to negotiate in the middle of a week day, this time at the property. I enjoyed the sun on the deck whilst Simon negotiated with the sellers inside the house, it was another hour or so of negotiating which ended just two thousand dollars off the mark. Eventually we met halfway and the contract was signed. Simply put, without Simon this sale would not have happened. At no time did I feel like I was putting Simon out, even though I called him numerous times after hours and during the weekend. If my call went to voicemail he would call me back within minutes.
