My great experience meeting Amrit Kahlon @ Barfoot & Thompson.

I have waited so long to finally be able and look to purchase my first property in Auckland. When I was searching many places over some time I ended up calling Amrit about a property in Kenderdine Road Papatoetoe. Amrit was immediately on the phone to me and agreed to let me come to view the property at 6pm on a Sunday night. Just a couple of hours before and short notice after I had checked other open homes that day.

I met Amrit at the open home and he was very professional and patient with us so we could look around. We looked through the house and he waited for me to speak about the place after we had a chance to take in all the sights we needed to see.

I felt the confidence Amrit had in the place and his relationship with the owner from the start. I could see Amrit was someone I could trust with my life savings, in the way he mentioned that he will treat the buyer the same as the seller.

Amrit kept the expectation for me very simple from the get-go by sharing the owners asking price from the start. I knew at the beginning that we had finally found the place we wanted to live in pretty much after the first visit. Something inside of me knew this was the place I wanted to call home. Love at first sight perhaps. But we really think the place is just what we were looking for. This feeling about the place was something we kept to ourselves.

Amrit kept in touch each day from then and accommodated me to visit the property again a couple of days later with my older son who could not be at the first open home. Amrit’s professional approach in treating me and my family with the highest respect and understanding my position as a first home buyer, meant a lot to me. I knew from then that I could work with Amrit well to see if this could be the place for us.

I trusted Amrit and he ensured my concerns about the roof quality I kept raising post seeing the building reports, were communicated with the owner. His tenacious efforts to keep prompting me through this new process where really helpful. I had stress through this and Amrit gave me calm and put everything in perspective as we went.

I really did not know the “how to purchase a property” but he in my opinion, always acted above-and-beyond my expectations, to never let go of the fact that he knew we were interested in purchasing the property. Amrit showed us the “Way”. It was just a matter of how to make the deal and he aligned my condition with the owners and we ended up agreeing that we had a deal.

This was actually one of the best news stories in my lifetime so far.

I’m very grateful to Amrit for keeping working so diligently between the owner and me for a positive outcome. I’m very happy with the purchase I have made and owe many thanks to Amrit who made this happen for us.
