I started my real estate career with Barfoot & Thompson in 2004. Initially, I worked from the Dannemora Branch which I loved. For the past 12 years I’ve operated from the Howick Branch, covering the entire Eastern area, and beyond. I am proud of the fact that many of my listings have been generated from repeat business or referrals. This is testament to my clients continuing support, loyalty and faith in my ability to achieve the very best price for their property.
I am a straightforward, professional real estate salesperson who is committed to exceeding the expectations of my clients and providing an outstanding level of service. I have developed a great understanding of what families, investors or individuals are looking for. Further, I am able to relate my experiences to give you the very best in service and results.
To ensure that your home will reach its full potential at the market, I offer recommendations and guidance. I will liaise with you until you are happy with all the listing details. To complement your existing furniture, I offer a free partial staging and I am more than happy to roll up my sleeves to assist in any way, from decluttering, gardening - whatever needs doing!
Living in the Eastern area for over 25 years, I have a great love of the area and outdoor pursuits, being actively involved in tennis and cycling.
Exceptional communication skills and a positive down-to-earth approach sets me apart from my peers. I relate easily to people from different cultures and backgrounds giving me the advantage to network and market to a broad range of clientele.
Your trust in me to manage and sell your property will be well rewarded.

Hello Wendy. We sold our house at auction yesterday and we would like to let you know our thoughts. One month ago we thought we had a fair idea on what our property was worth. We thought in the vicinity of $575,000. We talked to a friend, Jim Broadbent in Kerikeri who referred us to Barfoot & Thompson in Howick. As a consequence Simone Young was sent around to appraise our property. From then on, things became a bit hectic, with us scampering around and preparing the house for the photographer and then the open homes. Over the ensuing three weeks of open homes our place was like Grand Central Station!!! As well as this, there were at least three salespeople bringing people through each day. Finally, the day arrived for the auction. Nobody prepares you for the stomach churning, nail-biting event that this turns out to be!! There are people everywhere and you don't know whether they will bid or not.......they may have just been looking for a nice place to have their lunch!!! And then..............the hammer goes down and you realise you have made far more than you ever dreamed of.......$630,000!! You're in shock. You hug each other in sheer relief that it's all over!!!
Wendy, this is to let you know that the whole experience has been worth the ride. Jim did the right thing by referring Simone to us. Right from day one she guided us and dealt with the multitudes who descended on our place with professionalism and charm, never losing her cool. On the day, if it was possible, I think she was more nervous than us, but what a champion. David, the auctioneer, did a wonderful job of extracting every last dollar out of the buyers. This was done with patience and humour and a superbly professional image. All in all Wendy, you have a great lot of people working for Barfoot & Thompson.
Thanks for the experience.
